Is the Earth a Faberge Egg?

It is possible that the earth is like a blue sapphire floating in a sea of air. It is a fragile thing, like a Faberge egg, except that it's a planet and we live on it.

Humankind has mistreated this little treasure. It is only logical that if we dig it, pound it, dynamite, irradiate, and bomb it, we could break it. Therefore, it is arrogant to assume that humankind cannot affect the weather, or any aspect of our beautiful home. From the outside it must look like we have been working full time to destroy it for the last hundred-plus years.

Let us learn to tread lightly on the blue sapphire. May our footprints be smaller and may we stop judging each other; work on our own problems instead. God bless the abused people; we pray that they stop the cycle of abuse in themselves, and that they therefore will stop abusing us, our fellows in distant lands, the animals, plants, minerals, and spirit.
