One of two elegant bars.
The Paddlwheel Restaurant.
The boat has a ballroom / conference room for meetings, hosts weddings, has a theater, two bars, and a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. Steamers cafe is just across the street. There are many restaurants and museums in walking distance. The Delta King is a great place to spend a holiday, celebrate your birthday, or stay if you have business in Downtown Sacramento. Plan your trip here: deltaking.com Sacramento Fog
Fog causes cold weather in Sacramento, but luckily during my stay, we only had fog the last day. I looked around for a knife to cut through it, but the sun came out and the fog lifted. Fog on the boardwalk (below).
Local Critters
The California grizzly bear.
Sorry birdies. I was only shooting with my camera!
Birds leave the smokestack to find peace somewhere else. Video of Sea Lions Sea Lions swim up the Sacramento River to fish for salmon. I could see them from my stateroom, and could definitely hear them. They sing, argue, and tell jokes. Their voices sound like "yep, yep, yep." While yepping, they lie around, then jump in the river, then climb back onto the dock. One day, I saw two government workers on the dock where the Sea Lions gather. They brought buckets with rope handles, and brooms. They would dip into the river with their buckets and splash the water on the dock. Then they sweep it to make it clean and healthy for the Sea Lions. While they were working, one stubborn Sea Lion wouldn't jump off the dock. But when the broom got a little too close, it jumped in the water. The Sea Lions swam around watching the goings on. I'm glad Sacramento takes care of its Sea Lion visitors.
