![]() The North River, aka Clermont Model by Randy Decker ![]() Good morning Nori, The model maker, Randy Decker, said to "share away" with the photos. Please list the model as "The North River." It has been erroneously called the "Clermont" for years. Credit for the model should go to Randy Decker; Northville, New York. My part in the project is that I supplied some of the drawings and sketches and I am researching details. I've asked Randy to keep pictorial record of his progress so there will be more photos. I'll keep you posted. I also plan on visiting Randy in a couple of weeks to meet him and see the model before it is shipped to the Clermont Historic Site in Germantown, NY. There is a little bit of a story on how we got together. More on that later if you should be interested. There is another 12 FT long model of the Clermont from the movie set of "Little Old New York" circa 1940 (also on display at the Clermont site). It's on loan until December from a private collector in CA. I took these photos July 7th, 2007. We live just across the Hudson fron Clermont in Catskill State Park outside of Woodstock. Regards, Pete Baker P.S. The Friends of Clermont site is: friendsofclermont.org. There is another site that you might want to note. In 2009 there will be a "Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial" celebration, see: http://www.exploreny400.com. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
