![]() ![]() ![]() The Lakes of Tempe Public Art In 2015, The Lakes won a grant from the City of Tempe to install public art. We commissioned public artist Lyle London, who had a vision to build the Egret. The Egret sculpture is made of weathering steel, which acquires a rusted finish. It's twelve feet tall including an arched pedestal. ![]() The image above is Lyle's rendering of how it will look installed at the site, the median at Lakeshore Drive and Sandpiper Drive, Tempe. ![]() When the Egret was built, it sat in front of Lyle's studio awaiting installation at The Lakes.
