TROUBLESHOOTING This system works best on a computer set up to send an email from a local client (i.e., you can click a "mailto" link to get an email envelope). If the new posting system does not work for you please email your blog post to "email[at]norimuster.com" and specify "post_to_steamboat_blog" in the subject line. This will assure that your message will get priority treatment. We post all blog comments on our front page—steamboats.com. Your posting will be archived at a permanent URL in the research library at this site. If your posting does not appear remember, this site is a hobby, and the webmaster would love to put more time into it, but things sometimes get put on hold in favor of matters that pay the bills. It may take up to a week for your posting to appear, but if it takes longer than that, please write in again. Spam filters are voracious these days and email sometimes gets lost. We answer all legitimate correspondence. Your posting will appear online, available for our experts to answer, plus you will get a confirmation from the webmaster that will include any related links, books, or information we can provide. Steamboat history is disappearing, so please consider joining the S&D or one of the many fine steamboat history societies click here. If you want to add a steamboat-related link, or a piece of history, please send it in. If you find a broken link or erroneous information at this site, please make us aware of it and we will fix it. We especially welcome new links for our Steamboats of the 50 States page. If you do not want your comments posted online, please mark them confidential. Anything else sent in may be posted to the site, or may eventually make its way into a book or story. The blog archive includes spam-like letters from kids, which are fine, but the real assault began in 2005, when automated spam software hit the blog up to fifty times in a single day with pornographic or otherwise useless and unwanted advertisements. That is when we pulled the plug on the unsupervised blog. The spam robots still try to visit that URL to post spam, and it is a shame that the Internet has this ugly downside. Protect your children and help them navigate the Internet, so they can enjoy the advantages without needlessly having to confront the negative aspects. Thank god we now have a blog posting system that is virtually spam-proof. This should make it easier for us to respond to your requests, too. Thank you, The Management |
